30pp on heavy stock, some pp folding out, monochrome and colour photographs, illustrations, card covers, red ribbon tie. In near fine condition, just a little foxing to the covers, the best example we have seen. A magnificent souvenir of the launch of Queen Elizabeth in 1938 who saw no service before WW2 broke out - in early 1940 she sailed on a secret voyage to New York where she was moored next to Queen Mary and Normandie. She later operated as a troop ship and after the war she joined the transatlantic service. After retirement in 1967 she sailed to Florida where she operated as a hotel and tourist attraction, but this was not to last and in 1970 she was sold to a Hong Kong businessman. His idea was to convert the ship into a floating university but as the work was nearing its end the ship caught fire and was destroyed. Seller Inventory # 117
