Layers of the Heart and Mind: An In-depth Collection of Heartfelt Poems

There are layers to my heart and mind So many has been revealed over time I wish I could share them all with you To give you all of me is what you want me to do But how can I give you all of me When we know there’s things you don’t want to see I could open my heart to the world My pleasures and pain I would quickly hurl Hiding nothing and revealing the livid My significant moments showing extremely vivid Times I had with countless others Consuming you to the point you smother It’s your choice of what you want Some will be lonely and others will haunt I can only be me and give you quality So, take hold of the parts that you want to keep selfishly I’m far from achieving mastery I’m just offering you a part of me naturally

Ninon de Lenclos said, "Love never dies of starvation, but of indigestion." This is a true and valuable lesson. Seldom seen, and rarely giving my heart felt confessions turns into some of the most beautiful blessings. It's better for me to wonder and have you always on my mind than to have you daily, talking and being around you all of the time. I could be with you everyday and grow tired of your presence, but if we have time apart, then my love for you increases in essence. I don't want to lose you, so I hide sometimes. This is when I want you more and my passion climbs. Author Daniel Snell is a poet at heart. This is his second book. He resides in Indiana.
