Shon Barnwell served in the United States Air Force for 25 years reshaping organizations on five continents. Her areas of expertise include project management, logistics, process improvement, on-demand training and consulting. She served in numerous leadership positions at the squadron, group, wing, numbered Air Force, and major command levels. Shon deployed in support of Operation Southern Watch in Bahrain, Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq, and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. During tours of duty as a Superintendent, she was responsible for all matters affecting morale, welfare, resiliency, retention, recruitment, and readiness at both the squadron and major command. Shon rose to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant - a rank that reflects only 1% of the enlisted force. After retiring in 2014, Shon started an event planning company to provide professional, engaging, and memorable experiences for clients and their guests. She has launched 285 successful conferences, workshops, and special events; and delighted more than 35,000 people. In 2018, the National Veteran-Owned Business Association (NaVOBA) selected her company as a Minority Business Enterprise of the Year finalist. She leverages her travels to 26 countries to provide premier hospitality services. In 2020, Shon launched a publishing company and released her first book, "Leadership Is About Behavior, Not Titles." She conducts impactful workshops on Leadership and Professional Development, Conflict Management, Team Building, Career Enhancement, and Business Etiquette for Professionals. Shon serves on several Boards and also mentors Veteran and Military Entrepreneurs and their spouses. Shon resides in Georgia, with her family.
