While training on-board warships, a naval midshipman found abundance in less in the proving grounds of rough seas. Although every ship has only one Commanding Officer, he learned that we are all indeed the Captains of our own lives, and our successes follow when we assume command and make decisions.

Fifteen years later, after rising through the ranks to become a Lieutenant Commander, the author willingly retired to explore life on dry land. The struggles of beginning from scratch, with his wife and two little sons on the same lifeboat, tested their character and helped solidify their moral values. Listening to their hearts and learning from failures enabled them to not only survive but also thrive.

Leadership Compass: 12 Steps to Becoming a Purposeful Leader explains how faith and prayer transformed the author’s leadership understanding: “The power of faith gives leaders a sense of accountability to God, reinforcing their responsibilities for humanity.”

This book unveils 12 transformational steps required to become an effective, purposeful leader and will embark you on a journey of self-discovery that offers clarity of purpose, growth through lifelong learning, transformation through overcoming adversity, and how to make a personal impact on this world as God’s lieutenant.
