Review
Sharon Drury, PhD
Organizational Leadership
Faculty Emerita, Indiana Wesleyan University
Leadership the Wesleyan Way invites readers to think about a distinctive Wesleyan styleof leadership through the writings of 30 leaders drawn from across the fullrange of the Wesleyan tradition. The anthology's uniting principleis that Wesleyan leadership, whether in theory or practice, is grounded in deepand faithful Christian discipleship. The varied essays draw on therich resources of theology, Biblical studies, and leadership theory.Whether a beginner or veteran in the area of leadership, this collection willnot only challenge the reader, but provide an extensive list of bibliographicresources for further exploration. We should be grateful to Aaron Perryand Bryan Easley whose efforts have made this available to leaders bothinside and outside the Wesleyan tradition.
Shirley Mullen, PhD
President, Houghton College
This book should have existed years ago. In a way, Aaron Perry, Bryan Easley, andcolleagues make clear, it did: for the broader Wesleyan family has alwaysbrought distinctive gifts to the practice of Christian leadership. We justdidn't call it that. After Christendom we have no time for the implicit. Theseessays boldly and beautifully show that we Wesleyans have gifts for the broaderchurch and world. Perhaps God is not done with our revival yet.
