Susan Stephenson (M.Ed.) enjoyed 35 years as a family studies classroom teacher. From 1986 to 2002 she assumed various leadership roles in three Canadian school districts as well as with the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation. The recipient of two awards for distinction in professional learning, Sue retired as a school principal in 2002, reinvented herself as a freelance consultant and staff developer, and was elected to the Provincial Executive of the Retired Teachers of Ontario.
She has published numerous articles and resource books, including, with Paul Thibault, Laughing Matters: Strategies for Building a Joyful Learning Community (2006). Sue is a speaker across Canada and the United States to both corporate and educational audiences on teamwork, leadership, morale, humor, and trust. She has the unique distinction of being a Certified Laughter Leader with The World Laughter Tour. Sue credits much of her success to her sense of humor and an ability to engage audiences in lively, informative presentations.
Sue lives with her husband Tom in Ontario Canada, where she is a proud step-grandmother with a passion for family, friends, colleagues, and creativity.
