Rebecca L. Stinson, currently an administrator at Kingdom Schools in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, manages the teaching and learning around curriculum development, focusing specifically on planning, implementation, and evaluation. She is a mentor and a coach to more than forty teachers from around the world. Rebecca is the former principal of Claremont Elementary School in the Chicago Public School (CPS) system, where she led for twelve years. Rebecca has opened two new public schools and was recognized by the state board of education for achieving high scores in reading and mathematics, which put the schools in the top 7 percent of accelerating schools. For this accomplishment, the CEO of CPS recognized Rebecca in the 2013 Principal Evaluations. That same year, she received the Principal Achievement Award for providing exceptional leadership for Chicago's students. Recognized as an imaginative professional developer, Rebecca has a passion for collaborating with her teachers to achieve success.
As president of The Stinson Group, LLC, Rebecca provides extensive trainings, professional development, and coaching sessions. Stinson is coauthor of The School Leader's Guide to the Common Core: Achieving Results Through Rigor and Relevance. She is a past vice president of the Jack and Jill of America Chicago chapter and a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. She served as a member of the Office of Principal Preparation and Development as a mentor for new principals. Rebecca has a bachelor of arts degree from Howard University in Washington, DC, and a master's degree in education from the National Louis University in Chicago, Illinois.
