Leap of Faith (Paperback or Softback)

An angel in Heaven, a human on Earth, and a spirit plane about to rip them both apart - the finale of a British urban fantasy duology set on the Kent coast.

Two years after the events of Fall From Grace, Paul and Joseph now live in separate worlds, still bound by the cost of what they survived.

Paul is on Earth, trying to build a normal life with his girlfriend. Joseph remains in Heaven, living in his angelic form and still mourning the loss of his sister. But peace doesn't last.

As the barriers between realms begin to fracture, angels, spirits, and humans are pulled toward a conflict that could tear both worlds apart. As reality itself starts to unravel, Paul and Joseph are forced back into a battle they never wanted.

To prevent an all-out war between an angelic army and a rising spiritual force, they'll need courage, sacrifice, and a leap of faith...

...before everything they care about is destroyed.

-----

Three realms are on the line - heaven, earth, and the spirit plane - and Munson writes them in a human-enough way to care about the hurt. Readers of Ben Aaronovitch and Mike Carey, who want their apocalypses local, will root for characters who have no business saving anything larger than themselves, and humour that comes from the dry coping of people who've woken up on the wrong side of a cosmic war. A duology that finally closes properly: Leap of Faith is larger than life, sad, tensely wry, and unafraid of what an ending should cost.

Matthew Munson lives in Thanet on the north Kent coast, a stone's throw from the sea. He's an epic fan of science fiction and fantasy, and loves everything from Terry Pratchett and Joe Abercrombie through to Arthur C Clarke and China Mieville - and most things in between. His first two titles, Fall From Grace and Leap of Faith, are a duology, focused on a trio of friends living in Thanet, and explores themes of friendship, life, death, angels, war, and humanity. When not writing or spending time with his family, Matthew is a disability and sexuality advocate. He focuses specifically on "invisible" disabilities such as dyspraxia through T2D, the charity he co-founded, and on the asexuality spectrum.
