About this title
Over 40 million Americans have arthritis today. That number will increase significantly during the next century. Very little information outside of what is provided by the Arthritis Foundation has been written for individuals and their families stricken by the ravages of arthritis.
Learn About Your Arthritis! is a no-nonsense approach to the description of arthritis, osteoporosis, and related medical and surgical managements. Emphasis is given to rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Alternative treatments, while covered, are not emphasized. This book is a valuable source of information for making important decisions about treatment, lifestyle, or work--decisions that will impact you and your loved ones the rest of your life.
Education is the cornerstone to decision-making and for controlling arthritis. New medical vocabulary in this book provides you with the tools to communicate with your doctor and others about arthritis. Provocative comments by both medical experts and patients start a number of chapters. Learn About Your Arthritis! is a real life description of the disease and the choices you may have to make once diagnosed with arthritis.About the Author:
Malin Prupas, M.D., F.A.C.P., is a board-certified rheumatologist and internist with over twenty years of experience caring for patients with many forms of arthritis. Dr. Prupas regularly discusses the management of arthritis with patients and their families in a way that instills trust, belief, and hope, despite what most of the time is an illness that significantly changes their quality of life.
