"I teach, therefore I am... poor!"
When Jack Woodson made the transition from project engineer to third grade math teacher at an inner-city public school, he was not expecting the chaos, hilarity, and exhaustion that came with the move. Learn Me Good is the laugh out loud funny story of Jack’s rookie year in education, told through a series of emails to a former engineering coworker. Each email details rambunctious and precocious students, lesson plans gone awry, riotous quotes, and Jack’s signature sarcastic wit.
With subject lines like “In math class, no one can hear you scream” and “I love the smell of Lysol in the morning,” and sign offs like “Tackle Me Elmo” and “Sal Monilla,” every email is a page-turner full of humor and irreverent wit.

About the Author
Those who are fans of televised game shows may have seen John win the 2013 Jeopardy! Teachers Tournament, lose the 2014 Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions, and win his 2024 episode of Trivial Pursuit. On at least two of those occasions, he told his story of trying out for the 1992 championship Duke men's basketball team - cracking up both Alex Trebek and Lavar Burton, in turn.
All readers are invited to visit the JohnMPearson author website and join the Learn Me Good Newsletter, where you can get a free digital copy of his love letter to fantasy football - I Coulda Caught That Pass: a true story about fake football.
