About the Author

After spending her formative years in Puerto Rico, Miriam Alvarez Gallaher attended Marquette University and graduated with a Spanish Teaching Degree. She continued her education at the University of Wisconsin Law School. She was commissioned in the US Marine Corps and served as a Judge Advocate for several years. She married a fellow Marine JAG officer, Patrick Gallaher. They have five children: Rafael, Grace, Mary Margaret, Michael and Joseph. Recently Miriam has been training for, and competing in Marathons. Mrs. Gallaher is writing her next book, Learn Spanish with Grace 2, while training for the 2009 Florida Ironman.
