A detailed study of the architecture and urban fabric and urban planning of the megalopolis of Cairo that was based on a three-day international conference that was held at AUC Tahrir Square in Cairo, April 12-14, 2013. Published in connection with CLUSTER, the Cairo Lab for Urban Studies, Training and Environmental Research, and the American University in Cairo. A variety of subjects are covered including the need to approach city planning through local communities rather than distant government bureaucrats and big business. Horizontal format, measuring 8.5" x 6" with 172 + pages. Illustrated throughout in color and b/w with maps, charts, etc. The book is entirely in English; a brief section of several pages in the back is in Arabic. A cover may have encased the book at one time, but it appears to be missing from this copy, or its current state is in fact the way it is supposed to be. one cannot really tell.
