Learning the Hidden Curriculum: The Odyssey of One Autistic Adult

The hidden curriculum is one of the most important things to learn! Drawing from her personal experiences, Judy Endow, author of the Hidden Curriculum Calendars, provides a myriad of hidden curriculum items that pertain to most areas of adult life. In relating to how she personally has learned to successfully maneuver social interactions, she also presents a framework for developing the ability to quickly asses a situation and take steps to avoid making social blunders before they have been committed. Learning the Hidden Curriculum: The Odyssey of One Autistic Adult includes strategies, such as Pause and Match, Laugh Along, Recognized and Expand Black-and-White Thinking, and It Is Not Necessary to Report All My Truths. Judy's framework enables readers to learn to create their own social 'rules'; and, as a result, live more successful lives. The fact that the book is written by an autistic person who has learned by trial and error makes it all the more valuable. Foreword by Brenda Smith Myles, PhD.
