At age nine at a summer camp, Leonard accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of his life. Shortly after his conversion, he began to sense God telling him that someday He wanted him in Christian work. That call intensified as Leonard grew in his faith and walk with the Lord. Leonard has just completed 54 years in full-time ministry which have included 25 years (total) as senior pastor of the Ventura Missionary Church in southern California. He also served as president of his denomination. He is currently pastor to seniors at the Ventura Baptist Church. His precious and loving companion for the past 50 years has been his wife, Joyce.
