This book has unusual association value, besides being the first English translation of a landmark in the study of psychology. It bears the signature and period designer bookplate of A.C. Ivy, the legendary University of Chicago professor and authority in anatomy (83 publications, including the acclaimed text The Carcinogenicity of Fat "Browned" by Heating - the bookplate bears his motto and the artist initials "MD"). This copy also stood in the famed John Crerar Library of Science, and has a small neat "Withdrawn from Crerar Library" stamp on the endpaper. Introduction by William B. Cannon. A clean, tight copy of one of the milestone books of 20th Century science.
