Lectures On Hosea XIV by John William Reeve. Lecture II, The Instruction, treats confession and petition: take with you words, turn to the Lord, and seek pardon through the atoning work of Christ, stressing that forgiveness is available now for the penitent believer. Lecture III, The Acknowledgment, asks for deliberate confession and rejection of former confidences, acknowledging the bondage of false refuges and the need for God’s grace. Lecture IV, The Healing, declares that God will heal backsliding and love freely, turning away His anger through Christ. Lecture V, The Blessing, describes the recovered soul growing in beauty, fruitfulness, and spiritual protection under God, with branches spreading in grace. Lecture VI, The Keeping, emphasizes wisdom in walking with the Lord, the necessity of faith in Christ, and continual reliance on Scripture for a rightly ordered life.
