Size: 9 ¾ in. wide by 14 ¾ in. tall. This is an Indenture surrendering leasehold premises and was recorded in the Land Registry, Middlesex Deeds Department. Mostly hand-written. It reads in part: "This indenture made the 23rd day of January, One Thousand Nine Hundred and Six, between Charles James Carter of the Friary Maldon, Essex, gentleman, hereinafter called the mortgagee, of the one part, and Mary Emma Burtt of No. 88, Huron Road, Upper Tooting in the county of Surrey, widow, and Anne Eliza Keynes of No. 88 Huron Road, Upper Tooting aforesaid…." (On the reverse): "C. J. Carter, Esq, and others to Mrs. M. E. Burtt and another, surrender of leasehold premises situate at No. 13, Verbena Gardens, Hamnmersmith in the county or Middlesex, dated 23rd of February 1906." The document is in the form of a four-page pamphlet, folded twice horizontally. It shows a number of stamps, wax seals, and a small green ribbon. It shows dusting and other age-related markings.
