Legend, Arctic Cat's First Four Decades

The luminously written and profusely illustrated story of the birth and rise of a company founded in 1961 in a small wintry, Minnesota border town that grew to become an international leader in building, designing, and manufacturing snow vehicles. This is the story of the red Arctic Cats of the 1960s, the Black Panther and EXTs that defined the 1970s, the trials of the market collapse of the early 1980s and again with the new Panthers, Panteras and ZRs of the 1990s to further define the nature of wintertime motorized recreation worldwide.

Recognized as a preeminent writer, photographer and historian of snowmobiling, C.J. Ramstad began his career in 1969 writing snowmobile ads. In the decades that followed, he moved on to create several sport and industry publications, manage successful snowmobile competitions, found the International Snowmobile Racing Hall of Fame and write three books in addition to his latest, "Legend, Arctic Cat's First Four Decades." An award-winning writer and photographer, Ramstad was inducted into the Snowmobile Hall of Fame in 1990.
