Cloth backed boards. Frontispiece protrait of the author and black and white illustrations throughout. 800 copies printed, with typography by Frederick Warde. The Legend of the Hounds was written in 1867 by George Henry Boker, of Philadelphia. Due to his father's financial success, the author was financially able to spend his life in study and in wri ting. He became a poet and fox hunter. He wrote this poem about fox hunting, based on a story told to him by a citizen from Pennsylvania. 31 pages, plus colophon. Bookseller Inventory # 2343
