Legendary Yacht Races

Legendary Yacht Races is an invitation to become immersed in the world of sailing, to experience the passion of the sailors and yachtsmen, and to discover the prestigious world of the great regattas and classic yachts.

For two decades Gilles Martin-Raget, one of the best-known sailing photographers, has covered the most important international competitions, including the latest America's Cup, The Race, the Vendee Globe, and the Rum Route. As the official photographer for many of these events, he has amassed an enormous archive, and this book brings together more than 200 of his greatest photographs. Viewing these stunning images, you will sail the seas of the world, following in the wake of the biggest, fastest, and most beautiful boats, meet the men who sail them, and stop off in exotic, far-flung places.

Martin-Raget's photographs provide a first-hand view of the heart of the major races and an insider's look at the world of the great classic yachts as they and their crew encounter the challenges and perils of the sea, wind, and waves. Accompanying the pictures are lively, anecdotal captions that set the scene and provide details of the action depicted. This glorious hymn to the sea also celebrates the joy of being under sail.
