Legends presents fifty-two engaging biographical sketches designed to bring influential figures from history, culture, and public life directly into the ESL/EFL classroom. Organized into thirteen thematic groups―each containing four remarkable individuals―the book showcases a wide spectrum of “legends”: folk heroes, entertainers, adventurers, activists, reformers, presidents, and other figures whose achievements shaped communities, countries, or the wider world.
