In fair condition. Moderate wear to extremities. Cloth faded and somewhat soiled. Light bubbling to surface of cloth. Spine faded with rounded extremes. Severe foxing throughout with general age toning. Presented to Lydia B. Agim Oct. 1849 on tip-in. Free of other markings. Binding tight and intact. Please see photos. Hall (1793-1868) was one of the earliest U.S. authors to write of the American frontier. In 1828 in compiled the first western literary annual, The Western Souvenir, and edited the Illinois Monthly Magazine (1830-32). Legends of the West is mainly set in Kentucky and Tennessee.
