Before that, he was mayor of Brooklyn (before its merger to become part of NYC), and also president of Columbia University. He gifted Low Memorial Library to the university. Also included is a piece on actress Ellen Terry. An unusually well-preserved copy, with only minor wear and mild age-toning around the edges.
