Lesson to Obsession

I’ve always loved romantic stories. Growing up, I pictured my life being just that, a beautiful love story for the ages. You know the one - marriage, kids, the white picket fence. Okay, now hit the pause button. Spoiler alert - it did not turn out that way!

As part of this series, I detail the emotional roller coaster of my divorce, my husband’s infidelity, overcoming anger and fear, and finding new love when I least expected it. To cope with the loss of my marriage, I joined an anonymous online infidelity forum to seek comfort from others going through the same traumatic experience… and fell in love with one of the other users. What started out as a username and tiny green dot on a screen grew into an overwhelming desire, obsession, and unrelenting passion to pursue this relationship.

I take readers through this budding romance, the struggles of my divorce, jealousy, and more, while offering humor, heartfelt messages, and real-time solutions to overcome these situations. I’m not a therapist or a trained professional. I’m simply a normal, everyday person trying to help myself and others.

I go by the pen name “By the Book Baby” or BTBB because I’ve always done things by the book, until now. However, if you’re wondering, I’m a single mother with shared custody of a minor child. I work full-time and have written this book solely in my downtime to show that vulnerability and kindness do not equal weakness. I write from an anonymous perspective to protect all parties involved yet still try to keep the intrigue alive. These are real stories, written solely from my perspective, as a working journal to document the dos and don’ts of marriages and relationships.

I hope you join me on this evolutionary journey of a spiritual awakening and find comfort along the way. I truly believe that if you turn tragedy into therapy and then triumph, the result is a transformation. Through self-reflection, not projection, you do have the power to change. I am living proof of that. I will have my “Someday Came” moment, and writing this book is the first step toward getting there.
