I have as much as possible avoided the use of technical terms, so that the reader may better understand and more easily practice what I attempt to teach. Careful attention to my ' Course of Lessons ' and study of the various diagrams accompanying many of them, will, I think, enable any who have a taste for such imitative arts to model with truthfulness and pleasure, and to produce such lifelike portraits of their garden favorites as must be alike interesting and pleasing.
