A softcover pamphlet; 66 pages. Of Civil War interest; Scarce in any condition. A printing of four lectures Allen gave in 1989 at the Vienna Public Library on the significance of the Neale and Jackson families ? two sets of Gen. Stonewall Jackson relatives who resided in Wood County. At the time, he did not know Anthony Reager?s brother Philip Reger had married into the Jackson family and as the first sheriff of Lewis County would become part of what historian John Alexander Williams labeled the oligarchy that ruled what became West Virginia.
