Lessons Learned at Knight School: Prepare to Win

Over the 29 seasons that Bob Knight was head basketball coach at Indiana University, more than 100 students served on his staff as managers. Coach Knight relied on this volunteer staff for a wide array of duties that deeply involved them in the inner workings of the program. These students have gone on to become successful adults with highly productive careers in business, medicine, law, education and sports.

Prepare to Win is an accounting of the Lessons Learned at Knight School, chronicling the individual and collective lessons learned from Bob Knight in the countless hours spent as integral parts of Indiana Basketball. These personal perspectives of Bob Knight and Indiana Basketball provide a unique view into one of America s greatest runs in college basketball, and how those experiences translated into success beyond basketball. All profits from this book will be contributed to charity, including the Bob Knight Library Fund.

Dave Skibinski began his career in sports during his high school days as the student trainer at Bishop Noll Institute of Hammond, IN. During his senior year of high school Dave also served as a ball boy and training room assist with the New England Patriots. While attending Indiana University Dave was a manager for Hall of Fame coach Bob Knight, serving as co-head manager during his junior and senior years of college. Following college, Dave was an assistant basketball coach at the U.S. Military Academy and the University of Evansville. Since leaving coaching, Dave has had a distinguished career in the healthcare field over three decades. Today, Dave is co-founder, and President and CEO of SnapMD, a telemedicine software company. Dave resides in Altadena, CA

Bob Hammel was Sports Editor of the Bloomington Herald-Times from 1966-1996. Prior to covering the Hoosiers, he was with newspapers in Huntington, Fort Wayne, Kokomo and Indianapolis. In May of 1995, he received the highest honor given to a basketball writer, the Curt Gowdy Award, from the Naismith Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. Has been selected the top sportswriter in Indiana 15 times by the National Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association. Has written five books about Hoosier basketball and was editor of the Bob Hammel Indiana Basketball Magazine. Bob resides in Bloomington, IN
