Add to basketA series of lectures delivered by the entrepreneur, attorney, politician and noted theosophist Max Wardall (1879-1934) before the Pasadena Forum in 1923. The lectures include "Sleep and Its Mysteries," "Training the Cave-Man," "Our Human Ties," "Business and Brotherhood," Magic in Service," and "Ye Are Not Bound." Captain Max Wardall was born in Iowa in 1879, and at a young age bicycled across the country with his brother, Ray, taking and developing photographs and establishing photo galleries. He then earned a law degree in Seattle where he served on the city council and briefly as acting mayor where he uncovered corruption in the police department. He served as a captain in the Army during WWI and thereafter devoted most of his time to lecturing and traveling within theosophical circles. He founded the Pasadena Forum, published Personal Ascendancy and a number of other works and traveled throughout India with Krishnamurti, Annie Besant, and Charles Leadbetter. He died in 1934, aged 54. Illustrated wrappers, 83 pp. Minor dust-soiling to wrappers, else a very good copy of an uncommon title. Only three physical copies in WorldCat.
