Advance Praise for Lessons from Thor:
“Lessons from Thor is a thought-provoking and inspiring book, that will serve as an extra push to continue to thrive and be resilient!”
Vince Loran
CEO Ignite RPM,
"This book is EXACTLY what’s needed in the world today. Dogs can teach us so much and Kim perfectly distilled the life lessons these fuzzy little buddhas exemplify every day.”
Debra Alfarone
Network TV Correspondent
“An inspirational book of honesty about what matters.”
Sara Laszaic, M.S.W. Student”
“A thought provoking and inspirational book of honesty about what matters, with the tools to help you translate it to your life.”
Seda Goff
Military Veteran Advocate and Investor PenFed Foundation.
"As a retired US Army Woman Officer, I can wholeheartedly relate to this book. So often we were told to suck it up and drive on, etc., or we wouldn’t ask for help with any projects because we didn’t want to be considered weak. This book touches on so many “taboo” subjects that we just buried in the depths of our soul thinking they’ll go away or we feel guilty because we want more or better. This book will definitely begin the necessary conversations whether internally or externally so we can begin the healing process. Much thanks to Kim for having the courage to discuss what we have placed on the back porch of our lives!”
Erinn Roth
CEO, Ms. Jo's Petite Sweets & Mrs. Jo's Petite Eats
“Lessons from Thor is so much more than a cute pet story; it’s an inspiring journey with a true partnership to face hardship, overcome struggle, heal and ultimately thrive.”
Kelly Smith US Army veteran, mother of 5, Owner of Beyond Lettuce
"Kim is a warrior and survivor! Her adventures with her trusted partner, Thor, will surely make you smile and see life through a different lens. The dynamic duo have been through so much together and continually help those living with PTSD. This is a must read for those that are struggling and want to make life changes to lead to post-traumatic growth."
Meg Hawkins, Police officer and spouse of a combat veteran living with PTSD.
“Keep this one bedside. More enjoyable and beneficial than scrolling!”
Adrienne Freeland Holistic Horsemanship Services an Equine Assisted Learning provider serving Active Military and Veterans of the DMV.
"Kim's honest reflection provides a new perspective (through the delightful Thor) of those facing PTSD, depression, and anxiety. It is a crucial lens for those supporting a loved one with these challenges to reveal more of the hidden journey they face."

Store description
With 3 stores less than 1 hour outside the DC/Metropolitan area (1 in Gaithersburg, 1 in Frederick and 1 in Hagerstown, MD), we have the largest selection of books in the tri-state area. Wonder Book and Video has been in business since 1980 and online since 1997. We have over 1 Million books for sale on our website and another 1 Million books for sale in our 3 locations. Items on Abe are not necessarily in stock at our retail locations. Please do not call the stores to place orders for Abe Books sales. We have a very active online inventory and as such, we can receive multiple orders for the same item. We fill those orders on a first come first serve basis, but will refund promptly any items that are out of stock. Since 1980 it has always been about the books. ALL kinds of books from 95 cent children's paperbacks to five figure rare and collectibles. A merging of the old and new is where we started, and it is where we are today. Our retail stores have always been places where a reader can rush in looking for a title needed for a term paper that is due the next day, or where bibliophiles can get lost "in the stacks" for as long as they wish. In 2002 USAToday recognized us as "1 of 10 Great Old Bookstores", and we have been featured in numerous other newspaper and TV stories including Washington Post and CSpan. Members ABAA, ILAB.…
