When seven previously unknown Georgia O'Keeffe paintings are discovered, shrewd Santa Fe gallery owner Elijah Potts sees the key to a fortune. But before the new O'Keeffes can be authenticated, the suave world of Elijah Potts starts to unravel. First his sometime lover is brutally murdered, and Elijah becomes a prime suspect. Then additional unsolved murders turn the city into a tinderbox of multiethnic suspicion, hidden dangers, and mounting paranoia.

Mo Bowdre, a blind sculptor (and occasional sleuth), wants nothing to do with the media circus that descends on Santa Fe. But somehow--abetted by his beautiful Hopi girlfriend Connie Barnes--he just can't keep out of it. Mo thinks he knows who has committed the crimes and why. But can he act on his knowledge before it's too late?
