What do you think God is up to? In a sense, the message of Paul's Letter to the Roman Christians is focused on exactly that - helping us understand what God is up to and calling for response. So what is God up to? As you will see in this Bible study, God is providing a way out from a a dead-end life, offering us the bst possible way of life, and calling us to respond in faithful living. Christians through the centuries, beginning with the first recipients of this letter, have found Paul's Letter to the Roman Christians to be his most thorough and carefully reasoned explanation of the Christian faith. The letter deals wtih the deep and challenging questions of what the death and resurrection of one man, Jesus of Nazareth, means; what saying that Jesus saves means; and what God's act in Jesus the Messiah means for how we are to live, even today. Romans, while written to a particular group of Christians in a particular place at a particular time, is still written to all Christians in all times and places. It's for the twenty-first century as well as the first.
