Second edition. Two volumes (complete). Hardback, rebound in plain red binder's cloth with gilt titling to spine. Each 20 × 12cm, 455pp + 459pp. Illustrated with folding maps, this is an account of the Crimean War, including the Battles at Balaclava and the Charge of the Light Brigade. Lord Cardigan sued Calthorpe for his eye-witness account of the Charge of the Light Brigade but the legal action failed. The author served as Lord Raglan's ADC during the Crimean War. Condition: A good reading set. The books are ex-library but not offensively so. They have been rebound and have the usual discard labels to the front pastedown and ffep. The prelims to volume 1 are foxed but the main body of text is in very good condition. Seller Inventory # 014818
