Two demi octavo volumes (18.5cm). Contemporary tree calf with red and black morocco spine labels; marbled endpapers; lxxiv,[1]-355; iv,[1]-385,[7]pp (final seven pages are publisher's ads); engraved frontispieces, one folding facsimile. A tidy set; aside from some external rubbing and wear, easily VG, with the text pleasingly bright and clean. Contemporary bookplate of a John Wilson to front pastedown of each volume. With binder-bookseller's ticket ("J Young / Inverness) to both volumes. A "new" edition of Junius, assembled by the editor and bookseller John Almon, who was himself embroiled in the Junius controversy as early as 1770, when he went on trial for selling a copy of Junius' "Letter to the King," a virulent attack on George III. The current work, published by Sir Richard Phillips, appears to have been already in press at the time of Almon's death.
