About this Item
Jones died suddenly on July 12, 1904 in the midst of his third term as mayor of Toledo. That presents me with a conundrum. The publication date on the copyright page is September 1905. So, it might be hard to claim this book is signed by the author. Although maybe he received copies to sign before the release date or some such explanation. It looks like his signature but I cannot really claim that he signed this book! "Golden Rule Jones" was the egalitarian, progressive reform mayor of Toledo, Ohio from 1897 to 1904. A little light soil. Former owner's rubber stamp on front pastedown. Another owner's name and address in ink on free front endpaper. Overall a very good copy. Small 8vo. 7-9/16" x 5-5/16". 248 pp. Brown cloth covered boards stamped in gold. Seller Inventory # 1173
