About this Item

Paperback. Jay Mead has been in a coma since August 20, 1994. Up until then, he was a professional actor and stunt man. During a performance at Knott's Berry Farm, an amusement park in Southern California, he sustained a head injury resulting in the coma. In October 1997, his parents began receiving an amazing series of letters from Jay, through a medium that had never met him. In these letters, Jay revealed startling information about himself and his dual life - in both this and another dimension. According to "J", as he asked to be known, what he experienced was "no accident", but rather a graduation, right on time, to cutting-edge service work, straddling two worlds and being influential in both. J's messages, with their inspiring wisdom, will touch your heart and redefine your sense of who is "disabled" or not. Letters from "J" - The Expanded Life of a Coma Patient is the story of Jay Mead and 17 incredible letters written to his family. It is a story of karma and grief, of spiritual transformation, and of the value and purpose of human life. In the beginning, his Mother, Berniece, was reluctant to talk about the letters openly. When her spiritual teacher in India, Sathya Sai Baba, encouraged her to share the letters, she decided to put them in a book. Letters from "J", among other profound lessons, teaches us just how aware and active coma patients are. This item is printed on demand.
