Liber Librorum: Its Structure, Limitations, and Purpose : a Friendly Communication to a Reluctant Sceptic

Liber Librorum: Its Structure, Limitations, And Purpose : A Friendly Communication To A Reluctant Sceptic. This work presents a dialog-centered examination of the Bible's origins, authority, and meaning, arguing that revelation and inspiration are not identical and that the Bible should be understood as a collection with both divine and human elements. The text introduces the idea that inspiration is exceptional and confined to those portions that contain divine revelation, while other sections reflect historical or moral insights. It proposes a "verifying faculty"—reason enlightened by the Spirit—as the test by which believers discern which passages are truly inspired and which are not. The survey then traverses the Bible’s unity across the Old and New Testaments, the progressive nature of divine communication, the process by which the canon was formed, and common scholarly difficulties such as miraculous accounts and numerical discrepancies. Overall, the book advocates careful inquiry and humility: faith can coexist with critical examination, and public devotion can be shaped without surrendering truth. It stands as a nineteenth?century contribution to biblical criticism and theological reflection.
