The 37 papers (nine invited) and 34 posters in this volume are drawn from the proceedings of the Fifth Library and Information Services in Astronomy conference, "Common Challenges, Uncommon Solutions," held in June 2006 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on the issues facing astronomy librarians around the world.
