License Plates (Rourke Guide to State Symbols)

Discusses the license plates issued by each state in the United States, describing their design and symbols.

Grade 3-5-License Plates is unique by virtue of the fact that it presents photographs of three or four historical and modern plates for each state. The state motto and a brief narrative describing a few interesting facts about the plates are also included. Facts details basic information such as nicknames, date of statehood, ranking by size and population, number of counties, and bordering states as well as colorful topographic maps. The material in these brief volumes is useful, and the illustrations are detailed and attractive; however, there's nothing in the second title that can't be found in most reference books.
