The Life Awareness Manual : A Simple Recipe for Living Life

"Sometimes something so horrible can happen, no amount of time can erase that moment. You remember it like yesterday." For Barbara Nash-Price, that event was the brutal murder of her mother at the hands of her mentally unstable brother. Barbara's grief and despair ultimately cost her her marriage and sent her into a spiral of alcoholism and depression. It caused her to reevaluate every aspect of her life and to realize that all her successes as a wife, mother, and real estate salesperson centered on unquestioned values that were essentially empty.

"A fight erupted inside me. This fight kept me searching for help, perpetuating a hunger and thirst for a different kind of knowledge, knowledge that eventually was to save me from myself. However, before this was to happen, there would be a period of time when I was afraid to move one step forward. Now, years later, I have learned so many lessons. My life has little to do with my 'old world' and much to do with my 'inner world.' A world inside of me filled with love, and above all, peace. I would have given my last dollar to experience this feeling back then. When I found it, I spent not one penny."

Step by step, through therapy and sharing her experience with others who shared their own stories of tragedy, Barbara evolved a "recipe for life" based on the insights she received from reflecting on her choices. In The Life Awareness Manual, she shares these lessons, designed as simple, easy-to-follow tips to help anyone striving to overcome adversity move ahead in small steps rather than intimidating leaps. This book can help you on so many levels: Curl up with it for sustained reflection, or dip into it for quick inspiration. Whatever page you open to now is the right information for the moment.

These life lessons, which reflect on love, relationships, forgiveness, money, survival, discipline, and much more, are a lifeline in a time of need. They affirm that we can use even the most devastating events in our lives as an opportunity for grace and transformation. We may suffer, but we can survive. As Barbara shares her own story and those of others she has met along her journey, readers can take heart that they are not alone and that with a loving outlook and the tools inside these pages, they can heal and find joy in a more balanced, healthier life.
