Clean, tight, unmarked text. Burgundy cloth with gilt decoration/ design/ titling. Many illustrations (".forty original portraits and views illustrating the life). The jacket states: "Forty Steel Engravings". Orig pub'd in 1906 by Brentano's. The jackets are intact and have reinforcing scotch tape along edges; there are chips and closed tears along tips and edges, mostly on volume one; faded spotted spines. Protective wrappers present. A decent presentable set. Over 2 kg.
