22 x 15.5 cm. 624pp. Rebound into modern blue cloth with paper spine label. Missing the title page and frontispiece. Three color plates are present (opposite pg 160, 216, & 272). The plate opposite page 216 is incomplete missing at least half of the illustration. Scattered foxing. As it is lacking the title page, the printing is a bit uncertain but it is not the expanded edition of 1865 or the library edition of 1870. Photocopy of title page inserted. An incomplete working copy of this rare work.
