This biographical volume was published two decades after his death. Hale is noted for his treatise 'Historia Placitorum Coronae'.Biography written by Gilbert Burnet, a noted philosopher and historian who was a close friend of King William III.Bookplate of David Stather to the front paste down. Gift noted pasted to the verso of the title page. In a rebacked calf binding. Externally, rubbed to the boards. Boards are a little discoloured. Bookplate to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are a little age-toned and generally clean with some spots. Preface of 'Life' a little closely trimmed to the head, affecting the running title only.
