Life Decoded is preceded by three Forewords, each written by a distinguished professor of physics.

It is also the first work that compiles all known scientific requirements for a viable theory on the origin of life in a single place. These fifty-one requirements are based on the work done since the 1920's by about seventy scientists, including more than ten Nobel Prize winners.
