Smucker and printed in Philadelphia by G.G. Evans. 1858, 406 pp, 7.75 x 5.25 , 8vo, cloth binding. In fair condition, with staining and superficial rubbing to boards. Bumping to corners and loss of some binding at the head and heel of spine. Hinges remain intact with some wear throughout. Numerous inscriptions, ex-library stampings, and sticker remnants at the front and back of the book. Foxing to pages and slight staining to edges. Some rips and tears to pages (please reference eighth photograph). Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce piece of American exploration history, documenting the work of Elisha Kent Kane, John Charles Fremont, John Ledyard, Charles Wilkes, and Matthew C. Perry.
