About the Author: Mr. Pratt was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, where he graduated from Saydel High School. He attended Grand View College in Des Moines for two years and earned a bachelor's degree in secondary education from the University of Northern Iowa in 1977. In 1982, he earned a master's degree in secondary school administration from Northeast Missouri State University (now known as Truman State University) in Kirksville, Missouri. Tim taught economics and history at Saydel High School for ten years. He also coached football, baseball, and tennis there before changing careers to the financial services industry in 1987. He owned his own financial planning practice for nineteen years before selling it to assume a position as Director of Wealth Management for a large accounting firm. He now owns part of family office business. Mr. Pratt lists tennis, travel, cards, and playing the piano among his hobbies. He currently resides in West Des Moines, Iowa, with his wife of thirty-two years. They have two grown children.
