Among the most influential socialites in Regency London and an icon of dandyism, Brummell is perhaps best known today for his close friendship with George IV when he was prince regent. A dominant figure in men's fashion, he was said to have collaborated with tailor Jonathan Meyer to produce the contemporary trouser. In half morocco. Externally, a couple of faint marks to the front board, with rubbing marks spine, edges and heavier to extremities. Bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and to the extremities. Minor fading to spine. Marble end papers are bright and clean. Previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Minor worming to right edges of pp.28-30. Pages are bright and clean with minor age toning. Very Good.
