Compiled Under the Inspection of the Hon. Bushrod Washington from Original Papers bequeathed to him by his deceased relative. The books are bound in brown buckram with image of Washington stamped on the front covers over shades of green and red. The corners are lightly bumped and spine caps bumped/chipping. Top edges gilt. Foxing on the fore-edges. Each volume features a frontis-piece and many other illustrations in black and white, each protected by tissue guards with labels printed in red. The pages are lightly age-toned, clean, smooth and unmarked. The author was an American statesman and the fourth Chief Justice of the United States. Please see all images.
