This writing depicts the life of a farm boy and his family who were poor by some standards but rich by others in the deep South beginning during the 1930’s. This was a period of depression, war, and trusting in their values and beliefs, to live with strength, optimism, and gratitude for the life they had. There are times of happiness and joy, times of adventure, times of loss and grief, but always family bonds, friendly neighbors and strong faith in the Lord and His provision for him to have a strong, healthy and meaningful life helping others.

There are times of hard work, setbacks, worries, fear, treasured love, and learning from good and bad decisions to grow and serve the communities where he lived, his country, and the families that he was responsible for in this lifetime. Serious, silly, funny, and touching biographical in nature. The hope is that you discover in these pages a joyful, full life of someone who aimed to be the best person he could be so that others were helped and served well in his lifetime.
