Chicago & New York: M.A. Donohue & Company, 1920. This is a Fine copy of a reprinted edition of the populr biography by Ellis. Donohue republished many popular authors of the day, including Conan Doyle and Horatio Alger. There is no publication date, only the original copyright of 1889 from the American News Company. The publisher namestyle was used starting in 1901; Quercus has rather arbitrarily chosen 1920 as a possible date. Golden tan cloth binding with blindstamping and titling in black, with the intrepid scout and mountains on the front cover and firearms on the spine. Clean text;260 pages, with six pages of publisher adverts in the rear. The textblock is fresh, absolutely pristine. Previous-owner signature on the FFEP. The uncommon dustjacket in present, showing Kit trecking along. There is an eagle feather represented on the spine - perhaps a bit offensive consdering Carson's history with the Navajo! Showing edgewear, with chips at the head and foot of the spine. In an archival plastic protector. Later Printing. Hard Cover. Fine/Very Good. 8vo - over 7�" - 9�" tall.
