Ex-Pacific Union Club library with their bookplate on front pastedown. As was the clubs wont, a 1935 newspaper article is pasted in on the verso of second blank, Bancroft & The West, Fremont told of Secretary's Orders for California. Also affixed to the front pastedown is an old bookseller's catalog entry for the book, and the bookseller's label of Fred M. DeWitt, Oakland, Cal. Laid in is a copy of the quarterly, Noticias del Puerto de Monterey, with a 7 page article on William P. Toler, a 20 year old midshipman aboard the USS Savannah. EX-PACIFIC UNION CLUB LIBRARY, with their bookplate on front pastedown.
